Meanwhile, leading domestic companies like LEGO have also launched playground equipment made from recycled plastics, enabling each unit to recycle and reuse 85% of its raw materials—resulting in a single unit that cuts carbon emissions by approximately 2.3 tons.
However, the industry transformation still faces multiple challenges: eco-friendly materials are 45% more expensive than traditional ones, squeezing profits of SMEs by as much as 25%; meanwhile, bio-based materials are vulnerable to UV degradation in outdoor environments, leading to a 30% rise in accident rates over the past five years due to material aging. On the policy front, the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan mandates a 60% reduction in plastic waste by 2030, while China has also set an ambitious target of cutting carbon emission intensity in manufacturing by 50% by 2030, compelling companies to accelerate R&D and technological innovation. By 2030, the adoption rate of eco-friendly materials in the amusement equipment industry is expected to surge from the current 38% to 75%, fostering a positive cycle of "policy guidance—technological breakthroughs—market acceptance."
